Photoshop?????

Trying to select one area on an imported autocad jpeg drawing, already selected %26 imported a photo into it but this time whatever i do, whether it be hold the shift key or not, it just selects all sorts ie looks like shapes of clouds all over the drawing.



Please help, this is for my final uni project %26 i'm stressing out like mad.

Right now you have the Magic Wand tool selected, change the selector tool. Here is a labeled image of the photoshop toolbox.

Flatten the whole thing and them reselect the portion you want using the pen tool to create a path. (its the best and easiest way to select by using the alt key+left click to cut off the tail at each node) Then hold ctrl on the path (in the path panel) and that turns it into a selection. Then create a new layer via copy of the selection.
It may be that the photo you have imported is locked so it cant be changed but this is only a guess. Have you tried the lasso tool ? Are you using Adobe photoshop or elements? try the tutorials for help. Sorry cant be mor helpful
